Overhead rail DVD....what's it worth?

I have a grey overhead rail DVD player with the wiring harness from a 05 F150. One connector on the harness needs fixed but the end off someone exsisting harness would fix it. I think it for the dome light. If I am to sell it what do they normally go for? Not really sure what to ask.

So it goes with the 04s (and I guess some 05s have it) rail system on the headliner/ceiling? Used electronics don't hold value well at all, and that's a very limited group to sell to if it works only with 04(05) scabs screws with the rail system.

$50 if you want to sell it, no more than a $100. If someone wants it, I can see someone paying well for it, but I can't see any more than $50 really being reasonable when brand new aftermarket ones aren't too expensive, relatively.

It will fit any year with the overhead railing system. However, I agree that it's really only valuable to someone who HAS to have it. Lots of cheaper/better alternatives out there. I'd say $100 is probably a good starting point.

My point is that the rail system was only offered in 04s though, and I guess some 05s too. I've only seen them in 04s, but they certainly weren't available in the 06+. It just limits the market a ton. But I agree! $100 to start and then slowly bring it down if no one snatches it up

Just for perspective. If it was in tan, I might consider it for $50.00, but considering the condition you describe with the harness, maybe not.

The hell it was. There were plenty of 2008 F-150's I looked at that had it. I wanted a moonroof, though, so I automatically passed on any truck they showed me with the rail system.

Well it must be a really rare option then. Literally every truck I've ever seen with one, dozens, have all been 04s. Every one at the dealership and every one I've ran into. Learn something every day I guess

Jeez! I never even bothered to look that up cause it was so conclusive for me that all of them were 04s, just kind of accepted that as fact probably 2 years ago

My apologies to everyone!
