High pitched squeal on acceleration 05 fx4

I've got an 05 fx4 that I've recently changed plugs on and put on a new belt. The truck runs great! The only problem is when I depress the pedal, there is a high pitched squeal that comes from under the hood. It's only when the car on the road though. I can't hear it when I'm in neutral in the driveway. Once the truck reaches speed it goes away. Any ideas?

Other add ins to the truck include k&n intake, and edge programmer.

Hi & welcome.

Could be several things - air leaks around intake, idler/tensioner bearings, crap on the pullies despite new belt, belt not a Goodyear Gatorback, alternator bearings, waterpump....

EDIT to add: Check the tensioner itself - could be going south and the belt is squealing on delta V due to insufficient tension...

You can try to temporarily remove the belt and see if it is a rotational component issue or not.

BTW - 2005 5.4 3V +K&N POS + Edge canned tuning = a disaster waiting to happen. Yer truck just sayin' - LOT of info on that well-known issue on this site for the taking.

Very small sampling:

Hi.

No problem sir .. and I neglected to mention that, if you elected to keep your intake but wanted to ensure your tuning properly and safely accounts for the skewed MAF transfer function it induces, you can, for a very reasonable cost, get your Edge 15051 converted to a Gryphon with stellar custom tuning and a MAF TF specific to that intake.

It's all done over the web, you do not ship your unit anywhere.

These are fine folks - and are the ONLY ones who can custom tune a 15051 Evo.

Good luck!
