Changed Plugs... now getting a P0112 Code

Hi Guys,

I have a 2005 F150 FX4 with 91.5K miles and I decided to change the plugs this weekend using the sticky in the DIY thread. Only one plug broke, that was very easy to get to with the Lisle tool, so I am quite a bit relieved.

However, now I have a P0112 CEL light on which apparently means I have a Low IAT sensor issue. Does anybody have an idea how I go about changing / replacing this sensor and where I can find it. I cleared it once with my SCT3 scanner but it comes back and lights up.

Sorry... while I can change plugs somewhat successfully... the rest of electrical stuff is something I do not understand.

Thanks!

Did you remove the intake to change the plugs? If so, you may not have plugged everything back in right.

IAT Sensor

GLC,

From what I have been able to determine, it looks like the plug you pictured in your reply is actually not on a 2005 5.4L engine.... correct?

From what I found in reading a Chilton manual was that a 0112 code deals with the IAT sensor which is only on the MAF sensor. According to the manual, it says that if an IAT goes bad you must replace the MAF. It does not appear that there is any other plug / sensor except the MAF...

Thoughts?

Thanks

You can try cleaning the MAF. Use MAF cleaner spray and do not touch the MAF with your fingers or any tools. Reseat the plug to the MAF.

Clean the MAF and the trottle body as well. Even if that does not cure the problem, with that many miles, you haven't wasted your time.

Cleaning the MAF and TB

Thanks for the reply guys. I actually have cleaned the MAF last year w CRC and did so again once I got the code. Unfortunately, it still is there so I ordered a new MAF and will install it tomorrow. I probably will do the TB if I have time before I go on a trip later this week.

It looks like cleaning the TB should take about an hour?

I am keeping my fingers crossed the new MAF will clear the code...
