Tow Mirror puddle lamp questions

Alright so I've finally got myself a set of towing mirrors. I've had them on for a week or two now. I've done my research and I had to change out one of the pins so that it would stay grounded and my signals and heat would work. That part was easy.

What I need help with is how to get my puddle lamps working. I found a diagram of the wiring online and have been studying that. I have tried taking what I believe is the extra ground wire from the existing harness (I read somewhere that this was useless now) and tying it into the black wire going to the interior dimmer switch. Nothing happened. I have read that I need a blue/black wire from the drivers side. I looked and the only problem with that is that I found at least three that look very similar in color. What do I need to do to get the puddle lamps tied into the interior lights?

Also my truck is an 06 lariat.

Nice to see your truck still hanging out in Oxford, brother. I'll try to do some research and see if I can't help you out.

When I did mine I found the wire to tie into under the sill plate. There should be plenty of wright-ups on this if you do a search.

I have searched. Like I said most of everything I found was useful. I even found the wires. However, also like I said I found more than one that could possibly be the right one. I would rather not have to cut all these just to test whats what. What wire did you tie into? Theres about a million.

I to would like to know more about this. I have the same truck, and want to do the same thing? Which Mirrors did you get? Mine plugged right in and turn signals working properly without changing a pin for ground. I also have heated rear window, so when I hit the defrost it actuates the heated portion in the mirror. How do you check to see if these are working?
