Replaced Fuel Pump Drive module, fuel gauge issues now

I had the engine bogging down issue that has been mentioned on here in an existing thread and cleaned my throttle body, MAF sensor and ordered the FPDM from Amazon as others have. It came and I replaced it, engine bogging down disappeared. The tank was about 3/4 full when I replaced it.

Today I noticed I was going low on fuel and filled up. The gauge was at 1/8th. When I filled up, it showed I filled up 32 gallons. It only fills that much when the gauge is pretty much down to empty, not 1/8th. I turned the truck on and the gauge stayed where it was when I turned it off to fill up. Since I reset my trip meter after each fill up, it took 22 miles for it to creep up back to full. Now it seems I am going to have to rely on my trip meter instead of the gauge.

What could be causing the issue? Defective FPDM? Needs a cycle or two to calibrate? Gauge going bad? I did also replace my battery after I replaced the FPDM. I don't know if that's relevant or not.

I'm not sure if the signal for the gauge is controlled by the FPDM...

Did you order the Dorman FPDM?
Maybe try contacting them direct and see if it could be a bad FPDM?
