steering wheel controls

I have a 2006 f150. The cruise set button is broken and I'd like to replace it. Can anyone tell me how to go about it.

When you say broken do you mean the button itself, or that it is not working properly?

The switch assy is motorcraft #SW6256 which can be found on amazon, RockAuto or other parts sellers.

If you do a search for "adding cruise control" in this forum you'll find directions for the disassembly of the steering wheel and installation of the switch.

Thank you. I'll look for that post on adding cruise control.

I would go with what jr105 is sayin, though hopefully, since the steering wheel already has the switches from factory it should not be much of an issue as it's just a remove and replace. Good luck!

The only difference would be instead of removing and replacing the blank on a non-cruise steering wheel, you would replace the switch already installed.
