EVAP system problems

Hey folks, did a search but can't find anything relevant.

I've got a p0455 code, which is EVAP Gross Leak. It throws the code about a day after I clear it. About a week after running with the p0455, it throws a code for the gas cap, and the info LCD tells me "Check Gascap". Fuel mileage hasn't actually suffered, and I have no drivability issues.

However, I can overfill the tank. Gas pumps will not stop on their own, I've verified at 3 different stations.

I've replaced the cap twice, and I've visually checked the vacuum lines, and all appear to be intact. I can't spot any obvious problems with the lines (cracked, broken, disconnected, etc), but have no way of testing for pinholes.

Is my next step dropping the charcoal canister and checking the solenoid and vent valve?

Thanks all.

Edit: If it helps, I have an 04 4.6 2wd.
