changing front diff oil need torque specs

Ive read online they are 24 lbs ft but the poster w reffering to a 5. Do the 5.4 and 4.6 have the same transmisionaccording to this page the torque specs for front diff cover bolts are 24 lbs ft. Can anyone verify this? torque specs - Ford F150 Forum

Does anyone have the torque specs for the diff cover? Also, neither autozone nor oreillys have the gasket for it. Does anyone know what chain store does? They only have the gasket for the rear one. I didnt check to see if the bolt pattern is the same on the two. If anyone knows if the rear gasket can be used one the front, please let me know.

Use RTV for the gasket. I doubt you will find a gasket locally. And it is 24 lb/ft or 32nm.

My 2006 F150 4WD w/ 5.4l engine uses gaskets that I bought from O'Reilly's. The rear one is the 9.75" axle and the front ones uses the same gasket as the 8.8" rear axle (used in 4.6l trucks).

It's odd their computer doesn't list any front axle parts at all. But those are the ones I have used in the past on several trucks and they always work for me. Lots of guys use RTV with no issues but I'd rather have a gasket in there.

In a nutshell all 4x4's use the 8.8 in the front. The 4.6l trucks use it it the rear too. The 5.4l trucks use the 9.75 in the rear.
