I have a 2008 f150 4x4 5.8 auto.

Here are my issues: 1. Crank the truck and when lower the steering column, it goes dead. (not everytime, about 50 % of the time). 2. Wipers will not work, but if I turn truck off and crank again, they work. (again about 50% of time).
3. Speakers have no sound, turn truck off and back on and the sound returns. (less frequent than the other issues). I am thinking they are all related to a short in the switch. Has anyone had these issues? Does anyone have any ideas what might cause this?

 

I think you definitely have a problem in the column, probably the wiring harness itself would be my guess. Shouldn't be too hard to repair.
