Hello All,

I have installed the OEM trailer tow mirrors with heat and signal on to my 2008 F150 XLT. The signals were just plug and play but I am wondering how to activate the heated aspect of the mirrors. I spent 1 winter with out this function already and would love to have it ready to go for this winter (as if I am already thinking about it!)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

to make it work and look factory, you have to replace your hvac control head in the dash and fuse panel with one that has heated mirror option. with the control head you have to make sure you get the proper part number for your year of truck. they all look the same but they way the operate the various hvac doors is different.

 

Thanks, just taking a quick look at my fuse panel and owners manual the manual says the fuse #8 is Heated Mirrors, Switch Indicator. This slot is on the panel but has no fuse in it. So would I be correct in assuming that all I would need to do is pop the appropriate fuse in there to get it to work? (once I get the proper HVAC controls.)

 

no you can't just put a fuse into it, it will just fall back out. if the truck wasn't built with it then ford didn't put the terminals in that slot of the fuse box, thats why you need the new fuse panel
