2006 Lariat Wheel Squeak Only In 2WD

I have a 2006 Lariat that squeaks on the front drivers side, but only when it's in 2WD. When I turn on 4x4 it will stop, then I switch back to 2WD and it starts again. Any idea on what that could be? It sounds almost like a squeaking break, but obviously it isn't. Thanks

It sounds like your IWE. When in 2wd there is a vacuum applied to the IWE and it disengages the front, as soon as you switch to 4wd it cuts the vacuum thus engaging 4wd.

Sounds like you might have a vacuum leak and it's not disengaging all the way.

Make sure the vacuum hoses on both sides are properly attached and see if it still squeeks. I had a similar problem after getting my truck back from a mechanic and he told me I needed a new IWE. I ordered it before I checked the hoses. It was a five second fix, but now I have an extra IWE.
