2005 XLT AC drain - easier fix!

I had the same issue many of you had -- the AC drain needed that little rubber elbow Ford sells, which requires taking off the tire/wheel well insert/etc and some time/effort to replace.

I picked up a "HELP!" product #46017 rubber elbow. I was hoping it was large enough to fit over the AC drain, but it wasn't. It *was*, however, exactly the same diameter as the AC drain itself. With 1", or so, piece of rubber hose that had the same inner diameter as the drain and the rubber elbow.

I've taken the best picture that I can to show you all what I mean :

Took about 30 seconds to install once I got myself under the truck. It's been on there nearly a week without needing anything to clamp it in place. I didn't even have to lubricate the rubber hose piece.

After I installed it, I drove about 10 (or so) miles on a *very* humid day. I never saw so much water come out of that line before, and there was none on the floorboard the next day.

Now, if I can figure out where the *other* leak is coming from (the floorboard was FLOODED the day after it rained quite heavily), I'll be set!

What was the concern? Leaking onto the floorboard?

That is exactly what was happening. Haven't had any water on the floorboard since. Oddly, I even left the truck out in some *very* heavy rain again yesterday and the floorboard was dry. Guess I'll have to get the hose out just to make 100% sure there aren't any further leaks before I put the carpet back down / trim back into the truck.
