2004 f150 FX4 electrical issues

Was driving the truck the other day when the radio went dead. Wipers started to struggle then the dash lights went dead. Then all of the lights came back on. As if the battery was slowly losing charge. Babied the truck home and shut it down. Went to restart and got a clicking noise, like a relay stuck and trying to engage. Remove the key from the ignition and the lights stayed on and sounded like the starter was trying to engage................like the damn thing was possessed or something. Thought it may have been the aftermarket remote start so i hit the kill switch. Jumped the truck and it started right up. Shut it down and was not able to restart it. Bought a new battery and everything was fine..................for a day. and the same things happened. Truck started to act funny and then lost total power and the thing stalled. Got a little spooked as i had my two infants in the truck with me and it was raining cats and dogs.
Anyone have any thoughts. Going to check the alternator today and poke around under the dash. Also just replaced the driver side wheel bearing hub. Read somewhere that the connection for the ABS might have something to do with it.

thanks

Get it started and put a voltmeter across the battery - if it's not putting out at least 13.8 volts you probably have an alternator issue. Drive it over to a parts store and get it tested (free) to confirm.

thanks for the reply.
did just that after jumping the battery. watched the volts dip as i turned on ac, radio, wipers etc. eventually got to below 11v. tried to restart and not enough juice.
went and picked up a new alternator and installed. charged battery and truck started right up. turned on everthing and battery was getting charged. test drive OK
time to pop a cold one or twelve.

not so fast

OK.
It appears i may have jumped the gun and assumed that my truck was good to go.
Since installing the new battery and alternator my steering has been stiff. Almost as if the power steering is about to go out.
Then while going to lunch today I stomped on the gas and the dash lights went out, along with the radio etc. etc. Could it somehow be related to the power steering?

anybody else ever experienced this.

Pull the serp belt and spin all the driven pulleys.
