LED Conversion...

I am trying to start my LED interior conversion and I am needing some info. I've looked at previous LED conversions here in the Forums but no luck. I am trying to figure out how to change the window/ door lock switch lights to Blue LED's. I have taken the switches apart and there is two green lights that are microscopic in the switch circuit board. How do I go about changing these and what LED's can I use? Any info would be appreciated...

They're smd leds, sorry don't remember the exact size of the top of my head though, iirc the led's in there are white and the green color comes from the film on the inside of the buttons where the light comes through. To change them out you'll need a soldering iron preferably with a fine tip to it, one that's low power (I use a 15W one for stuff like this but you can with higher power if your pretty fast though, a pair of tweezers, and a very steady hand.

You'll want to heat up the solder on each side of the led just enough to where you can pull it up with the tweezers, being careful to not overflow solder onto the circuit board traces. Install is pretty much reverse, hold them down with the tweezers so the don't float up while soldering and you end up with a cold joint, and again being careful. Getting solder somewhere it shouldn't be could end up frying the circuit board as well as applying to much heat.
