What is this on my rear view mirror?

Hello,

I just bought my first ever truck.
2006 F-150 SCREW FX4, red.
It has 84K miles on it.
I bought this truck from a small used car dealer, who got it from auction and it came with nothing but the truck and the spare tire, one key and remote with no code for exteral key pad.
It has a standard stereo, CD, tape no steering wheel controls.
What could this box be behind my rear view mirror I have to know?

(OK) so I can't figure out how to post pictures yet either.
The box between the glass and my rear view mirror is flat, oval shaped with a 4/5 pin connector attached to it.
The truck does not have auto dimming mirrors either or it would have guessed thats what it is.

Love the forms, I have read through them for the past few days now and could not find anything related to this particular item. I downloaded the owners manual and scheduled maintenance log from Ford, no luck there either.

I have already retrieved my door code thanks to posted directions and removal of the back seat. It was hard to get the angle right with a screwdriver but once I got the seat off I used zip ties as suggested so next time when the stereo gets mounted back there I will have an easier time of getting the seat off. I plan on installing HU with NAV etc.
Kenwood newest units (DNN770HD, DNN970HD) is coming out with WiFi with 2-yr free cloud based music storage, etc, etc.

thanks to whom ever responds to this post.

If you need an owners manual, you can download one for free from here.

I believe the auto headlamps are part of the blinking LED on the drivers side of the dash.

Thanks for the responses.
Love my truck, just sucks not to get a owners manual with it.
Used car dealers these days suck.
I did however get lifetime oil changes and yearly inspection stickers from my purchase.

Don't slam the dealer for no manual in a used vehicle. The original owner may not have left it. When you can download a free owner's manual, this is a nonissue.
