?'s before buying new tires

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the rite section.
I have a 2006 F150 2wd with 2.5 leveling spacers in the front. I bought a used set of KMC XD Hoss wheels 20x9 not sure what the back spacing is, and think that's what my problem is because the tires rub on the rear fender bad, Im carefull when I have to turn sharpe. Tires are 305/55/20 Nitto Trailgrapplers. I have put up with the rubbing for a while now, but now it's time for new tires and was thinking about changing to a 295/55/20 because they are about an inch shorter and my help but I'm not sure. I have looked under the truck and I would have to trim plastic and metal to make them not rub. I'm just not sure what to do. They tires do stick out a lot farther then the stock one do. Any advice would be appreciated. I would post pics but I don't know how too.

Thanks
Wes

they are an inch shorter and also 10mm narrower so i'm sure that would help as well...How bad are you rubbing now?

They rub bad when trying to turn anything close too sharpe.
I think my main problem is the wheels, because they stick out so far.

yeah, get wheels with different offset or try the smaller/skinnier tires
