Using POR 15 on suspension components good idea or bad?

When doing the ball joint job on my truck, I realized just how bug ugly the steering knuckles have gotten in their 9 years of life, and I am nowhere near wanting to get rid of / trade in my truck. I am one of those odd birds that will likely either wreck this thing, or pass it on to my grandkids when I croak... I just hate buying new vehicles.

Anyway that got me to thinking about doing something to protect / improve the appearance of the steering knuckle, and POR 15 came to mind. Is that stuff good to use on cast iron? Never used it before, not sure about the stuff. Just heard it's tough as rocks is all...

I dont see a problem using it. Would most likely be the last time you'd ever have to touch it up. I just wouldn't put it on any spots that move like nuts, bolt, ect.
