Need Help!

Alright guys, so far every time I have an issue you all seem to come to the rescue. So here it is, I have a 05 F150 with the 4.6 and 114000 on the clock and an Edge programmer installed. I was driving to work last week and while driving the truck seemed to be acting odd as my mileage went to hell and the truck started acting like the trans was slipping. I pulled over and turned the truck off, returned the program to stock and read the codes with the edge. One code popped up. P0109, from what I've read its a MAP sensor. I've also read that a bad throttle position sensor could cause this. Anyone have experience with this code? I just dont want to start throwing parts at it and hope that one of them fixes it.

Thanks in advance,

Strange that you would get that code considering you have MAF, not MAP. Do you have an oiled air filter? If so, clean the MAF. Look for vacuum leaks.

Does your truck have this type of EGR?

The MAP sensor exists. But it is called the Differential Pressure Feedback EGR, and is integral to the EGR valve assembly.

Yes, I run a K&N filter. I spoke to a guy at a local Ford dealer and when I gave him what the code read, his first question to me was do you have power peddles? I dont, but he told me that the map sensor is related to the peddles. This is why Im so confused.

Get rid of the K&N - all you are doing is getting MORE dirt into the intake and fouling the MAF with the filter oil.

I have been thinking about doing so.

Today, I replaced the EGR (PITA) and cleaned both the throttle body and the MAFS. I hope to drive it tomorrow and see how it goes.

Thanks for the advice everyone...
