My first F150
I recently got a 2005 F150 supercrew with the 5.4 engine. The truck felt slow so I put a Magnaflow cat back,K&N drop in filter, and did the Gotts mod. This truck still feels like nothing has changed. It feels like something is holding it back. I figured with what Ive done it would "pep" up a little but I got nothing. Any ideas?
How many miles are on the truck? Your best options for more power are going to be maintenance and a tuner. Not sure how up to date the truck is on maintenance, but changing the plugs and fuel filter would be a good start, and also cleaning the MAF and throttle body. Custom tunes will also give your truck some more power.

120,000 miles on the truck. The truck is real clean. It just has no throttle response. Im not looking for a race truck or anything but my old 96 Chevy with 33's and 200,000 miles on it would walk right by this truck.

I never sold it. I will try cleaning the maf and changing the fuel filter. The plugs were just done 3000 miles ago. Hopefully this gives it a little more response. It feels like it wants to go but it just wont put the power down.

Strange, on my 07 I can take off easy at a light and floor it at 20 and it will break both tires loose and kick the rear end sideways. Maybe check you cats?

These trucks are very heavy, and are not "pocket rockets" in any sense of the word. My '05 is a regular cab-short box configuration with the 5.4 engine (the best weight-to-horsepower combination available in this truck) and I would classify my off-the-line acceleration as average, at best. I'm waiting on a performance tune from Mike Troyer, and am hoping this will liven the truck up at least a bit.
One thing you might also want to try with your truck is to unhook the battery cable for 15-minutes or so and see if this helps. If the guy who owned the truck before you drove like a grandpa, this step might help the truck's computer "relearn" your more aggressive driving techniques.
Also keep in mind that the "drive by wire" in these trucks is notorious for having poor throttle response -- the only way to improve this is with a custom tune.
