Changed fuel filter......YUCK

I bought my 2005 Scab FX4 in early October. I just rolled 60,000 miles and decided to change the fuel filter. I'm absolutely amazed at how dirty the gas was that came out. It runs much smoother now and has a little better response!!

The previous owner obviously never changed it. It is very easy and ill be doing it much more often! I've been add Techron as well. Hopefully that will head off any early problems!!

I changed mine at 75k when I bought my truck and yeah it looked like that... At least you know it works because the other side was clear gas coming out on mine lol

i replace mine every 10,000 miles which is about once a year. just changed mine yesterday as a matter of fact. easy to blow through, so the gas i'm getting isn't to bad. make sure when you fuel up there isn't a tanker truck there or one that just left, it stirs the sediment up in the in ground tanks and put in your gas tank by the pumps.

I will definitely be doing mine once a year!! When I was little my Dad always said the same thing about the tanker trucks and it has stayed with me. If there's one there I drive right by.
I'm amazed at how easy it was to change. My only problem with the whole thing was the gas I got on my clothes. Impossible to get out!!!

Might want to check the TB also and make sure it's not gummed up. It's not hard to do either, takes about 20 minutes from start to finish.

TB=throttle body
Also clean the maf=mass air flow sensor

Use the appropriate cleaners...

This is every 20k from the gas stations around here.....

I usually change mine about twice a year or after 3-4 oil changes. I also like to blow through it after its removed to see how bad it was. It's amazing how clogged up they get but most of the time the truck still runs.
One more thing I learned a few years ago that If you run your truck out of gas you had better go ahead and change the fuel filter. The next day my truck wouldn't run due to the filter totally clogged from settlement in the bottom of the tank.

Fuel filters are so often overlooked and so easy to change.
