Here are pictures of my truck. Baby girl could use a wash.
As you can see I messed up the bumper. Lesson learned on that one. This accident actually has it's plus. My sister has a good friend who's father owns a body shop. He has tons of connections. "I can get you Harely leather seats, shaker radio out of a Mustang, leveling kit, tint, etc." He also invited me to work on cars at his shop which is something I've been wanting to do.

My biggest thing with leveling it and getting bigger tires is my transmission getting bogged down. I was thinking 30 or 31 inch tires. I was also thinking about a locking rear diff for off roading but that's pricey. From what I've read on this forum, lots of 2wd trucks do great off road. I should be getting the new bumper soon and I plan on that being the start to transforming my truck. Hopefully I get fog lights with it. As far as exhaust, not to sure which one.

How do you get the picture of your truck underneath your reply though?

Well you take a picture of your truck and upload it to your album. Gotta make sure it's kinda small though. Then you copy the HTML of your picture and under your control panel, click on EDIT SIGNATURE and post the HTML there.

Off course if I level it I'm going to get bigger tires. I was thinking straight pipes though. Want a beefier sound.

got my level kit from hell bent steel for my 07 for $80 and love it. if u want the straight pipe sound with not so much backfire and on a budget go with flowmaster super ten both are on mine and i love it. a leveled truck would look fine on a 2 wd

Its your truck man, you do what you want, when you want or how you want. Don't ever let peers tell you how your truck should or shouldnt look. I say yes to leveling it. Hell Bent Steel is one of the better more affordable ones. 2 inch will have you sitting about perfectly level, you could do 2.5 as well towing will have you sitting nose high, a 3 inch is offered and will have front sitting about .5-1 inch higher than rear, but reports say 3 inch its not great on suspension angles, most recommend 2.5 max.

Is it manual or auto? You could go bigger tires if you plan on regearing when installing a locker. If not, do 32s-33s no bigger, you will be alright with those. A limited slip locker will do wonders for your truck, I used to trail ride in my last truck that was 4x4 without using 4x4 bc my stock limited slip took me through so much and it was fun.

IMO I wouldnt straight pipe, try a straight through bullet style muffler, magnaflow magnapack or dynomax bullet its a calmer straight pipe sound. Its your truck go for it. Leveling a 2wd is nothing and most people wont even know if its 2wd or 4wd, but hey from experience when I was 16 I like most people said "lifting a 2wd thats stupid," as you get older you understand its just a truck regardless, its a damn truck not a camaro or caprice your lifting for 26s.. who cares do what you want!

What size tires are you running?? I think I might get a cat back exhaust and not just a muffler. Not sure.

That's the way I see it now. My truck. My money. I'm gonna do what makes me happy. I'm either going to get 2 inch level or 2.5 inch level. I'd like to swap out the leaf springs from another F150 in a junk yard if I can. Some from crew or super cab. Little better ride comfort. Could you foresee any problems with that? I can get them for free. My sister is good friends with a guy who ones a body shop and junkyard so if I told him I'd like to take them he would let me. He's already told we would get me a receiver hitch from a wrecked truck because my truck sits high in the back.

It's a 4 speed auto. I wasn't planning on getting anything bigger than 33's actually. Most of my driving is city so I don't want to kill myself on gas. What's the best A/T tire? I like the look of Nitto Trail Grapplers. I want a tire that is good on and off road. I also may get Cragar Soft 8 wheels.

My birthday is in April and I want something for my truck. In your opinion, what should I get? I really want more power out of my truck like most guys. Not an insane amount though. My engine isn't meant to be a powerhouse. Just enough to make me feel confident when I need it. I'm going to do Gott's mod, K&N air filter, and I've looked at a cat back exhaust from gibson. I don't think I'm going to straight pipe or get a flowmaster. Gets raspy at high RPM and I would look like a fool. I'd like to get a tune as well. I'm not looking to break my parents bank either. Anything affordable and cheap you know of? No more than $300.

Sorry if I repeated anything. Didn't read my original post.

I dont think swapping the leafs will do much of anything as far as ride height? I would keep the stock rear leafs they are soft and meant to give a smoother ride. If your rear is already to high I would just do 2.5 front, it will sit perfectly level with the rear. I really liked the Edge tuner, IMO when I did it I felt it more than my exhaust/intake mod together. Level it, do it yourself its fun and not hard, go get an alignment, order up a tuner. Definitely do a intake and exhaust mod, but the programmer you will feel more than the others, I would save money on catback kits usually you can order the muffler and tip you want and have it done by a shop for hundreds cheaper, but the bolt on kits are cleaner looking and usually stainless, so there is an upside to them.

Make sure you research the Gibson muffler selection well, some kits have mufflers that are slightly louder than stock IMO not worth it.

I like the Nitto Terra Grapplers or Toyo Open Country ATs both look nice and not to high, offered in good sizes. Good luck, keep us posted!

Its a truck, don't level it. It will ride level when you haul a load for which it was designed to do. If you want a level ride, get a car. Also, if I was 16 I would be happy to be driving a truck that new (I got my first truck at 15 and it was 20 years old). I'd save up money for college/tech school, so I could buy a better truck later.

I'll going to keep the stock leaf springs. It was just an idea at the time. Would like some new shocks but not now. As far as levels, I'm going to go with 2 inches. My birthday is Tuesday actually and I don't know what to get. Exhaust or tuner. I really want some more power out of my truck. Haven't really looked at tuners. Grandfather already bought me a tip which really does look better. Got a K&N air filter. Definitely noticed a difference in acceleration. I really don't want louder since I have a 6. Just some more performance. Mufflers are cheaper. Asked about tires. Somebody suggested Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx. Hybrid of an AT and MT. Great reviews and made in America Now I just need to start putting my ideas into action.

I know why a truck sits why it does. I don't do much towing or hauling and with what I would tow or haul a 2 inch level really wouldn't make a difference. And I don't work my *** off cutting grass to let my money sit around.

One thing I figured needs to be mentioned here. The stock ball joints on our trucks leave a bit to be desired specifically in the fact they are non serviceable. (No grease fittings, fairly small components for the truck they support etc...). A leveling kit DOES add stress to those ball joints. I just finished replacing mine. Not a fun job, not the worst. A whole lot easier physically for somebody your age than mine (I am in my 40s), however I have knowledge and experience you have yet to gain... IF you can do it, and have the support of a friend / shop owner that is willing to show you the ropes and give you access to the tools, I would go for it. The value of learning how to build, and fix your own stuff will serve you very well beyond just toying around with cars, it will help you along in your career, and oddly enough, with women. (When I was single it was VERY easy to get a date with a gal at the clubs just by offering a jump start for her car... I know cheesy pick up lines, but hey it works!).

I in fact do know somebody personally who owns a shop and would be willing to let me use his shop and tools. He has even offered me to come work on cars during the summer which is fantastic. How much $ was it to replace said joints? And how long have you had a level before you replaced your joints?
