taken out by a tree rat!!

So Im leaving my parents house this afternoon in my F150 and a couple miles down the road I get a huge whiff of gas. it gets worse and and i notice in the headlights behind me that gas is pouring out from underneath. pull over into a shopping center and investigate... and find one of the lines coming out of the top of tank had been chewed through. ( saw squirels all over the truck earlier in the day). had to leave it in a parking lot tonight....

My sympathies to those that live it "little chewing varmit" country. They can indeed cause havoc. I would keep a close eye on things because it may be your wiring next time. I have seen them chew copious amounts of rubber off tires, huge holes in plastic cowl grilles, wiring looms in two and just about anything else rubber or plastic in sight. (different varmits have different "goals" in mind) There are electronic devices (silent to our ear) that some RV owners have testified have ended their nightmares in the spring of not knowing what they were going to have repair before they could use their RV.

Dad had a dakota they had seized in a bust, they didn't have a place to put it, so we put it by our barn at the old house. anyway we go to start it the following spring and find they had chewed the plug wires off!

Those little rascals ripped out the wiring to my taillights at work one night. Had to replace the whole harness under the rear of the bed.
