Help 5.4l
Help 5.4l
Hey guys new to the forum, thanks for accepting me. I have a 2006 F150 5.4 that is stalling when put in gear. All new ford motor parts, fuel pump, plugs, throttle body, maf, tps, fresh oil, cps. i am having trouble when it gets warm, and it cranks as if out of time, real rough. any advice would be helpful only codes i get are p0340, p0345. please help need it bad it sucks with no spare vehicle. by the way 70,000 miles thankx
Here's the info on the codes. They are both for the CPS.
Causes
A code P0345 could mean one or more of the following has happened:
a wire or connector in the circuit could be grounded/shorted/broken
the camshaft position sensor may have failed
the PCM may have failed
there exists an open circuit
the crankshaft position sensor may have failed
Possible Solutions
With a P0345 OBD-II trouble code, diagnosis can be tricky at times. Here are some things to try:
Visually inspect all the wiring and connectors in the circuit
Check for continuity in the circuit wiring
Check the operation (voltage) of the camshaft position sensor
Replace the camshaft position sensor as required
Check the crankshaft position circuit as well
Replace circuit wiring and/or connectors as required
Diagnose/replace the PCM as required

It could be a sensor. Either a CPS (camshaft position sensor) like 1LeathalSVT said. Or a Idle positioning sensor.

Listen i am no ford expert but anytime you guys are having these codes screw in a manuel gueage on the filter housing and start there before buying sensors. Oil pressure hot idle was 16 lbs so i removed the filter and used my caterpillar filter cutter and guess what full of fine metal. Problem solved POS ford gas engine. Ford always serviced it since day one and look what i have, i will stick to my cummins engine from now on. Thanks for the help guys
