Overhead rail system storage

I know this is a trivial question, but can someone explain the overhead console system to me? When I got my truck (used) it didn't have any consoles in it, just the rails up there. Do the consoles come in different variations? Also, how do they attach? Do they just snap on or what? How do the electrics hook up? Thanks for any help.

yes they just snap in, ive only seen the sunglasses holder though. from my understanding you can buy different ones and fit them in. a lot of trucks with the rail system ive seen have a hole in the upholstery in the ceiling where the sunglass holder connects to, so i assume thats for the wiring for other things if need be.

They Just snap up there (Latch on each side of the storage box) Look on eBay sometimes there are some on there,I only have the Sunglass one that came with the truck & can't add more becuase I have the Rail Mount DVD System.
