Who is the best tire wholesaler?

I'm posting this as I'm doing research into the matter. So yes, for the "search happy" members, I wearing that search bar out.

I've always used 4wheelparts.com to order my tires, but I'm thinking they're starting to get too high with their prices. They offer a 100% price match guarantee, but most of the other big name tire wholesalers have close to the same prices.

Does anyone have opinions as to who else may be out there to choose from? I'm aware of:

1. 4wheelparts.com
2. discounttiredirect.com
3. discounttire.com
4. topguncustomz.com
5. 4wheelonline.com
6. tirecrawler.com-(Has anyone had experience with tirecrawler? They have much better prices on their tires and I'm starting to lean towards them. They seem legitimate. Opinions?)

Fyi-I'm posting here because I recently purchased a 2006 f150 to replace my 99' that got totaled earlier this summer. Thanks guys.

Tire Rack. Shipping can be a killer though.

If you are a Sam's Club or Costco member, you can special order tires and they will be shipped to the store free.

I have used TireRack and Discount Tire. I don't really have a preference between the two, but have had good experiences with both.

I've only tried three different ones over the years:

1. Tirerack - like glc stated, great to do business with but shipping is a killer.
2. discounttiredirect - great with free shipping but you need to call them and haggle for the best price and throw in freebies.
3. tirebuyer.com - ordered two sets of tires for my wife's suv, great price, free shipping and they ship the same day.

I love discount tires! They're awesome, they will match any advertised price and sometimes they will have rebates and gift cards when you purchase. Bought some Falken All terrain tires for my Xterra, they matched an Internet store price and I got a $40 visa gift card.

I've always used Discount Tire. I don't order online though. I go to the store. I've received what I consider good customer service over the years. Used the no hassle replacements under road hazard warranty a few times.

The only negative comment would be that the lower end tires (which I tend to buy) get phased out. So if you need a RHW replacement, you may not end up with the exact tire you bought. I think I had at one time: (1) Falken, (1) Perelli, and (2) lesser known names that I can't remember now.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

Just to be clear, it seems there is a lean towards Discount Tire. Everyone actually means Discount Tire and not discounttiredirect, right? Their websites are similar, so I want to make sure.

I'm fixing to buy tires for my newly purchased 2006. I'm going with a 2" leveling kit and I want to fill it out with 275/65/20's or whatever will fit. Just trying to get some different perspective on tire distributors compared to what I've used in the past.

I have used Tirerack three times...great service, and they have a directory of dealers that will mount and balance your tires in your area. The prices were always correct. Great outfit and saved me a lot of money. I have used Sams and Costco, but I am mad At costco for trying to sell me four new tires when I got a blowout and they said they couldnt replace just one because of my AWD vehicle.

I'm not a big fan of discount tire. They want to much to mount/balance a tire. It doesn't add up for someone like me who just wants to buy a tire and have it mounted and balanced. I do all my own rotation and plugging.

them and tire crawler had the cheapest prices tires when I looked during june.

www.getmetires.com

I used these guys recently. They basically compare find best prices across local dealers. So there is no shipping... and installation is included.
Not sure where are you located, but I found a pretty good price and no hassles...
