Console and dash wire locations?
Hey folks, hope all is well. I am planning on putting a mount of sorts for a tablet in my truck(2007 f150). The two possible locations are in the pictures below. I am curious as to whether or not there are wires located in these two spots. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Not sure about how to remove the radio trim on a Flow Through dash, but removing the cupholder piece on the console is easy so you can check.
If you raise the black console bin lid, there is an area where you can place a flat head screwdriver and pop that cupholder/shifter cover loose. It is held in by clips, and is easily replaced after being removed. Once you do that you'll see where your wires are placed in your truck (I did the Flow Through swap and know no wires are in the way on my truck, but I can't say they will be at exactly the same location on yours).

No Wires
You will be fine bud. Both locations are "wire free" relatively speaking. The radio trim comes off super easy. No tools required. Simply open the ash tray and gently pry the trim. It will unclip as you work your way up. 4 bolts hold the radio in. You will see the wire loom under the radio. You also have power to the accessory port you pointed at initially. As far as the flow thru console goes, that literally pops right off. You do have a harness but it runs along the right side of the shifter and back to the rear vents if you have heated seats. The plastic is pretty flimsy in both cases so give some thought to how you will re-enforce the mounts. Good luck!
