A/C Blowing Hott Air

Hey... I have an 06 150 with 140,000 miles and recently the A/C started blowing hott/Warm air. The heater Works Great.but the A/C doesnt..Could this be an Evaporator Prob or Something else?

P.S Ive tried refilling the Freon But it doesnt Hold Anything at all..

It could be several things. The cheapest (about $30) would be a bad sun-load sensor. (mounted on the dash, also works with the auto-off headlights)

If it won't hold the freon, you have a leak..........

take it to a licensed repair shop and have someone track down the leak. it could be a pinhole in your condenser, to a wore spot in a line somewhere.

Did you hear it coming out as you were putting it in? If it was low enough the compressor won't come on till enough has been "pressurized in". Meaning the can of 134A has to slowly move in the agent till the system has enough pressure to turn the low pressure switch back on before the clutch will kick in. Until the clutch kicks in there is nothing to suck it in. Even if it is just a little low the low pressure switch will keep it from coming on til there is at least half a charge in, then it will suck the rest in. Today's condensors are made of very thin aluminum and very susceptible to damage (small hole) from small rocks. The thinness is by design for added efficiency, not cheapness. Virtually never happened with the thicker condensors of 20+ years ago. You might even be able to see it if there is a small rock hole in it. If it is a hole, be sure and cover the lower area with some METAL screen door screen after you replace it.

Yeah Ill Probably end up taking it to a shop,i definitely think there's a leak, well that makes sense about not having enough pressure.but my stupid self bought 80$ worth of freon, emptied it all. After the last can emptied..The gauge immediately hit 0% so it looks like ill take her to a mechanic.and my auto headlamps work just fine..but could it still be the sun-load sensor?

Did you use the R134 cans with stop leak? Some shops won't touch your vehicle if you do.

No way of knowing until the leak issue is resolved. The lack of refrigerant is the primary problem it would seem.
