Headliner Rattle / Squeak

I have the really annoying headliner rattle/squeaks. I've seen a few threads that reference removing the rear dome light to see above the headliner. (beer and carpet, bacon and foam threads...) I pulled my rear dome light off and there is a black plastic piece covering the hole from the inside. I can't see anything. I also don't have a sunroof... Maybe this is the difference? I have a 05 SCAB. Do I have to pull the entire headliner down to get up there?

This is one of the most annoying rattles too, since the headliner bounces for a bit after you hit a bump... extends the squeakiness... Anyone have any suggestions?

The headliner had been previously removed twice due to hail damage and paintless dent repair... Luckily, this rattle was deemed under warranty from my shop and they took care of it for me. The clips had been worn from being pulled out hard and the metal had been slightly bent. So essentially the clips in the middle of the roof weren't locking in. They were able to fix it. Thank goodness, because this was the most annoying rattle ever.
