Having several problems with the 5.4

Hey guys as you can see this is my first post but I have been surfing this board for many years and have gain a boat load of knowledge, and for that I thank you. Not to my engine woes. I have a 2005 5.4L Lariat and I was tired of bringing it in to the dealer and having one coil replaced at a time and paying dearly for it, I purchase all 8 from the Ebay seller Global that was recommended by the forum. I replaced them all in under 30 mins. I couldn't believe how easy it was! After I replaced the coils I began my search for the loud ticking that sounds like an exhaust leak. I really hear it when driving close to a building or another vehicle. During my search I found an oily stain from the front outside corner of the the head that proceeded down onto the frame. I found that the valve cover bolt was not even threaded! I could just pull it out! Now the dealer is the last on to have those covers off while replacing the cam phasers. I tightened it down but was wondering if that could have caused any problems, and should I bring it back to the dealer? Tightening it down did not quiet it down any. I did some reading about the noisy injectors and was wondering if I do replace them, will the new injectors be quieter? The original reason I wanted to replace them was because I am having trouble with hard starting and read that these injectors sometimes leak causing this problem. I figure replace all 8 and not worry about it again. I am just trying take care of these issues while I have the time and before there are major issues.

Thank you!

Given the fact that you have an '05 with the "funky" injectors, if you are already going in there to replace one then there's no doubt in my mind that I would replace all of them and be done with it. However, I'm not sure if the improved injectors are as noisy as the ones guys often talk about -- it's hard for me to say since I have never noticed any unusual sounds coming out of my engine bay.

My 2007 5.4 was just as noisy. If you are replacing injectors, replace them all as there is a TSB i believe for the 2005 series where injectors would stick open. Even when replaced I am sure you will still have the ticking noise. IT seems to be an inherent property of the ford injectors for this motor. As long as gas mileage is staying the same and there are no performance issues you are probably fine.
