Sorry if I just jumped into things. I have owned and always loved ford trucks. I didnt know how to start a new thread so I kinda did it here! LOL
Hello one and all
I have an 2004 F150 with a 4.6 l engine. When coming to a stop it starts hesitating and dies out. I am going to change out the TPS but if this dont do it should I clean out the throttle body or would it be another problem like the AICV? Thanks for any help!

Before I changed the TPS, I would clean the MAF and the throttle body. Also, how many miles on the plugs? How many miles on the fuel filter?

i had the same thing happen on my truck when ever i was at a stop it would die i had to sit at lights with my foot on the gas so it wouldnt die out. i ended up taking it to ford and they had to reflash the computer on it after that it worked fine. if cleaning the maf and changing the tps doesnt work i would have them reflash it. or maybe with a programer it would do it but i didnt have a programer to try it.

This problem happens as I am coming to a stop not at a stop. The idle at stop is fine. The truck kida fluctuates as I am coming to a stop then dies out. I have no problems starting the truck afterwards. The plugs ar still original at 96,000 miles. The truck sat for a couple months cuz I ride a motorcycle and that was with periodic starting. Fuel filter has never been changed either if I am not mistaken its in the tank.
The plugs need to be changed, and the fuel filter is attached to the frame rail behind the driver's door, not in the tank. That should be changed every 30k so git er done!
The FPDM (fuel pump driver module) is attached to the rear axle and has known corrosion issues, so I'd pull it and check the backside.
