Was it a brand new OEM or a generic reman?

If it was a Reman Quality Varies some are better than others Motorcraft Remans are about the best,Also Had good results with NAPA's better line,Be sure to check your battery a marginal battery can work a Alternator harder causing early failure.

Unfortunately most of the rebuilds today are done with cheap 3rd world or Chinese parts. You get whay you pay for. Ford rebuilt should be better quality than most of the rest, even Napa.

So far, I've lucked out. My alternator crapped out a couple years ago and I took it to Ford. They didn't have an alternator in stock so they put an O'Reilly's reman in, no problems.
