Rough idle on 4.6L

My '07 has 142,000 well maintained miles on it but lately I've been getting a rough idle (almost to a stall) for a few seconds before it settles into its normal idle RPM. It will also fluctuate RPMs when coming up to a stop sign. What could this be? Do I just need to replace the MAF and clean the throttle body?

Haven't scanned it. Plugs have 40,000 on them and are the Ford recommended plugs.

It wouldn't hurt to CLEAN the MAF and throttle body.

Try this - accelerate gently up to about 40-45 mph, making sure it shifts into OD and the TC locks up. Then accelerate a bit more GENTLY - does it skip? If so, you may need one or more COP's.

Ford recommended plugs = Motorcraft?
