To those with e-fans, a few questions...

Not lookin for what fans to run, how to set them up or anything like that. What i would like to know is, do those who installed them...

Were they really beneficial? Or no noticable difference?
What, if any, MPG gain did u see?
What, if any, performance gain did u see?
Any other additional benefiets? Better A/C performance? Quicker warm up?
Would a new tune be needed?

Just wondering, if they are indeed worth while i would consider adding them to my 06 FX4. Not really looking to gain 50 hp or 5 mpg but a few more ponies a another mpg wouldnt hurt. I searched but mainly seen install threads of people asking for mod ideas, no real hardcore data on what gains were seen as a collective.

No tune needed. Better, rappier throttle response and acceleration. 1.5 better fuel mileage. cooler A/C around town. quicker warm-up and you can better control engine temps. If you decide to do it and you have them come on with the A/C, make sure you have an overide switch to turn them off while going down the freeway. No need to spin the fans when your at that speed. It will lengthen fan life. this can also be used in the winter when the defroster is on using the A/C compressor which will also aid in warm-up.

The gains are not all that noticeable, they are there just not much for the cost of doing it.

Were they really beneficial? Or no noticable difference?---i didnt notice a difference really
What, if any, MPG gain did u see?---none
What, if any, performance gain did u see?---i can see quicker response being better, but i have that already lol
Any other additional benefiets? Better A/C performance? Quicker warm up?--- ac feels about the same, it does warm up quicker, and the fans dont really run during the winter anyway. i drove around without any fan for 2 months just fine during the winter.
Would a new tune be needed?---no

If you're looking for a ton of responses, you might want to have posted this in a different section. Afterall, it's not just those with an 04-08F150 that have done it. Going further and before those years are plenty of individuals who have done the same mod.

I just put them on mine, more for the fact I was looking for something to do and I figured if alot of the newer trucks come stock with them I would hope it's considered better. Like everyone said alot of the things you mentioned are not that noticable. I do feel mine through my steering wheel a little at idle ive noticed.

My fan has been on for 5 years. Maintenance on the engine is easier with the removeal of the original fan. Engine is definetly more responsive. Mileage maybe 1 mpg better.

I can stand in my engine compartment now. I notice a lil better mpg and quicker throttle. Thats about it. Theyre a PITB if you arent electric saavy. I wasnt.

I ran them on my 07 for about 6 months, not worth the cost. Very little if any difference in mpg. Older trucks that have the full mechanical fan clutch might see a better improvement than I did. Ford switched to an electric fan clutch in 07 so those trucks wont see much.

No CEL, the PCM will show a fault code if read with a reader, something about fan RPM too low, but NO light and no difference in performance. I have beed running 'Madenterprise.com" 'mad fan' setup for two years with faultless performance

Which fan and controller your using, mad has a standard and a heavy duty controller. I have dual fans from a 2012 f150. My truck has the electric clutch fan and it would great if there was a way to control the fans via the PCM using the wires that plugs into the e-clutch fan. Have you heard of anyone trying it that way. Thanks
