Replacement overhead bins?

Hey yall,
I went out to the truck earlier to grab my sunglasses, and when I opened the overhead bin to get them out I heard it crack and then the bin did not want to shut without me pushing the tab. So I see needing another replacement bin in my near future.... For the second time.

Anyway, does anyone know of a website that sells replacement bins? I don't want to spend an arm and a leg buying it through Ford.

I searched, and came up with my old thread the last time this happened.

And Brandmotion does not have them listed anymore on their site.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Salvage yard might be an option. I just throw my sunglasses on the dash tray and never use that bin.

yeah thats where I'm probably going to go. Trying to search for a yard online wasn't very successful for me though. Those I found didn't have a 2004-2008 F150 in inventory. I like keeping them "out of site out of mind".

Try looking on ebay at the LKQ store or their actual website. They usually have all kinds of odd parts for sale.

Glasses are probably safer in the bin but even the one time my truck got broken into they left my glasses, Costa and Under Armour pairs both still there. DVD/NAV was gone though!

When mine did the same thing I had it repaired. I know a guy that repairs interiors and he laid a piece of vinyl over the bend of the tab. If you use it regularly you would be much better off replacing it but mine see very limited use. His fix has lasted me two years and only cost a pepsi.

I think it would be hard to find one of the bins at a junkyard. I rarely see any of the trucks with the overhead bin system, much less the chance that a junkyard happens to have one. I'd say eBay is your best bet outside of Ford.

Barrett,

Here is an eBay option with the WHOLE set-up, in case any other parts ever break....
