Tranny Flush at 30k

Hey guys, went to get my oil changed yesterday since i had a gift card and was informed that my tranny fluid was god aweful... im only at 32k miles but i'm running 33's with stock 3.55 gears on a 4.6L, were they blowing smoke up my a** or did i probably need it? Also, came out to $110 for the oil change and tranny flush with all synthetic, does that sound about right?

For $110 they aren't doing a flush much less a flush AND an oil change. The tranny holds 14 quarts of fluid and synthetic is at least 9 bucks a quart.

If you follow the Owners Manual Recomendations you will want to drop the pan & change the filter,Pan gasket is reuseable so do not put the crappy gasket in there that comes with with some of the filter kits,This will get about 5 qt. of atf changed (Takes Mercon 5) That is what I have done to mine every 30,000 miles,If you already had the flush done I would do the Pan Drop/Filter @ 60,000 miles.

well i had a gift card for the oil change and i work at polyperformance so the guy working gave me some sort of discount, it probably would have been more around $160 without the hookup. they said they did a flush so i'm hoping i didn't get swindled...

didn't see it myself unfortunately but they said it was pretty bad, quite dark and some debris present. the mechanic said he had to flush it out twice even, who knows if that's the truth though..
