Howdy, all. My 06 Lariat was parked on the street and someone whacked the mirror at night hard enough to break the 'stops' on the breakaway action. I can lift the mirror assembly up and down and swing it on the pivot, it just isn't locked in tight on the mount. Dealer wanted $500 to put a new mirror assembly on it, but the mirror/housing/turn signal/ and remote all still work fine and it looks great. Just a problem with the mount. Any ideas to get it seated properly and tightly?

if it broke the stops you may have to buy a new mirror. mine is just a basic power mirror and they are 140 new. it is easy to swap them out as lng as u have a few sockets and know the ol lefty loosie righty tighty. lol.

 

Fair enough, I just hate to buy something that seems like it should be easily fixed. Ah well. . .
