Hello all. A few weeks ago i picked up this 05 f150 fx4 for a great price. This one is loaded with 4x4, leather, back up sensors, tow pkg, power everything, 5.4 3v with the flareside bed thats growing on me. I use my trucks for work so in the upcoming months you will see the addition of many things to the truck. I wanted to share her journey with you guys. Here it is the day i picked it up


At this point it desperately needs tires, as the fronts are very bald.

Got the tool ox from my f250 on today. I didn't think it would look good, but I think it came out nice. Had to shoe horn that thing in there

 

Got my tires in last tuesday. I ordered some 275/70/18 BFG all terrains



Started some much needed maintenance on the truck. Jumped right in!!


8 new motorcraft plugs, nickel never seize, and a few hours, it ran like a top. SO much more power, it was a huge difference. 120k miles on the (im guessing) original plugs

Upon mounting the tires, i noticed that the right side inner pad was eating the rotor. So i ordered some brand new pads and rotors for both sides. Went to compress the caliper and it was seized up. 30 mins later 2 new calipers show up at the shop. Centric rotors, wagner pads, and im unsure of the calipers. They work, thats all i know..lol


Ordered some key fobs from flea bay because they didnt come with the truck

 

Yesterday my wife and father loaded up and we went out to the JW Corbett conservation to take advantage of the free fishing day we had here in florida (no license necessary). Most of you guys probably wont understand the trails and such, so bare with me. We went in the south gate on our way to the L-8 canal (fishing spot). Very dry out there right now. We took trail 6...... No pictures, but the sugar sand was HORRIBLE. It was very rutted out from the huge buggies that go through there. Really got to test the truck out. We didn't get stuck, but was close a few times. Over all I was pretty impressed for a stock truck on 33" tires. I just kept up the momentum and we got through it. If we stopped we were screwed. After we made it to the spot, i was really glad i did the plugs and tires. I dont think we would have made it with out either.

I just ordered a dash pod for it (literally). It should arrive this week

After that trail riding yesterday, it was in need of a wash. My wife and I spent some of the day cleaning the truck

Thanks for the kind words! Have not tuned the truck yet with the edge. I have to update the software before I tune. It's hooked up and gives me 4 perimeters to monitor as I drive. I'll let you know how it goes after its tuned.
