Interior rattle/squeaking

Hey guys, I did a search but couldn't find anything that matches the problem I am having exactly.I have a squeak(almost a rattle now) that sounds to me to be somewhere around the rear seat or window area of my Screw. If I hit a bump in the road its there and it continues for a few seconds, almost as if something is loose and takes a sec or two to settle down. The best description I can give you is that to me its the sound a vinyl headrest rubbing against the window would make. Have removed the rear seat but found nothing and checked all interior panels but cannot replicate the noise sitting in the driveway. Any suggestions are welcome. TIA.

mine was rattling from the back seat and i loosened the jack screw like 1 turn and it didnt rattle any more. i dont know if thats the same rattle you hear but it may fix it. mine rattled when going over bumps so with the local roads it never stopped rattling. lol

Well I actually snugged mine down more thinkin that might get rid of it but never tried loosening it, worth a shot I guess. I'll give it a try.

From what I have read there seems to be a lot of complaints with interior noises on these trucks, funny thing is my 2000 F150 with 2 times the mileage as my 08 was way quieter.

Mine is for the most part quiet and like it compared to my brothers 07 GMC which rattles everywhere and mine is two years older with about 20-30,000 more miles. But I do have one rattle, its from the rear window and only happens when its cold out and what I'm assuming is the sliding re glass molding shrinks just a bit and causes a rattle or rubbing like you mentioned. When it warms up (spring and summer) its non existent.

Nope, I'm not usually that lucky. I think I've got it narrowed down to the infamous rear slider noise. If I open the sliding window and press the frame outwards towards the bed it's the same noise I've been hearing, I'm gonna grease the hell out of it and see if it helps.

Let me know what you find... I have the exact same problem - sounds just like the headrests/vinyl rubbing against something in the back seat of my Scab... I removed the headrests but problem still there. I am assuming it has something to do with the window as well.

I have the exact same issue you describe and haven't been able to figure it out either. It's only bad on rough roads though.

My solution so far is to just crank up the radio!

I'm not sure its gonna last but took the truck out for about 30 min drive tonight and so far the noise is gone. I greased the heck out of everything around the seal for the slider, in the track, around the track, around the outside frame everywhere. I used Fluid Film which I think is simply awesome! Will keep you posted...

Yeah Fluid films rocks, being in Canada I have my truck Krown sprayed yearly but grab a can of this stuff everytime I see it on sale. Spray the crap outa everything underneath, seems to really stick and leave that wet look all over the frame etc. If it gets rid of my rattle permanently I'll be the worlds biggest promoter!
