Another plug change

WOW!!!!

07 2x4 supercrew 5.4 flex fuel 115000 miles

Well did it changed the plugs 3 out of the 8 broke. I put in the sp515 in it, Oreilys auto parts have them for all 8 right around $72 that's a good deal. I have been wanting to do this for the past year. I ran sea foam then chevron did it all. If those plug are going to break then they are going to break. Also took of the intake and cleaned it cause it is a reusable gasket.

All I have to say is that this truck with 115000 miles it,idles so smooth and when I floor it, it spins the tires it hasn't done that for a while.

The problem I was having is when you floor it it would buck putter and not go. Now when you step on it it's like it hits passing gear and takes off.

Thanks guys for all the reading material on the spark plugs.

I'm going to attempt mine this week. I also have the Sp515's and have run seafoam through it already and I have a bottle of techron to run through it as well. I have 61,000 miles and I have been experiencing rough idle and sluggish exceleration. I changed the fuel filter and cleaned the throttle body so the plugs are next to try and get it to run smooth again. I have the lisle tool and the special spark plug socket so I guess there is nothing else to do but tackle this job.

If you haven't cleaned the MAF, it can really affect the idle.

My first plug change is coming on this truck at 100K, can't say I'm looking forward to it but at least I've got the 4.6 instead of the 5.4...

4.6? No worries, as it''s Cake

BTW - don't leave it that long - no such thing as a 100k plug. 50-60K tops. Measure the gaps on the ones coming out and compare to spec.

Thanks MGD--didn't wanna wait that long but money issues have necessitated some things to wait

Between that and the new battery I'll put on soon, she'll be good for another 100K

I did that last week, no change in idle. When I start it is revs real high for about 6-8 seconds then idles down. It never used to do that. Im open to any suggestions.
