tinting tail lights

i thought i would give it a shot since my bro had some lens tint left. he got the rust-oleum tint and his came out good nice and dark but he has a black truck mine is white so i wanted a little lighter. i hope its just the lighting in the spot im tinting my lights in but one coat looks really dark im scared to do more then 3. lol. i just did 1 coat and it is almost straight black. im debating on doing my reverse light to or not. well here are the pics i have so far.

finished the second coat and removed the tape to start the third and final coat and i ran out of spray. but my buddy is getting some more spray tomorrow so i can do his and finish mine. but here they are up untill now

second coat with the tape removed:

The pair of them:

The Spray i used:

before anybody goes and says i messed up because they are scuffed up i scuffed them before i put a layer on and in between each layer so it will stick and get rid of any runs i may have. i will spray mine again tomorrow night and his also. i will post pics of them when they are fully done and installed on the truck. still debating on clearing them or not tho.

Yeah if you were getting runs you were going waaaay to heavy. You'll need 2 or 3 LIGHT COATS. They need to be very light and even or you might as well use black paint.
