I like it, I have a red stepside XLT and I'm trying to decide which one to get to replace the OEM.

Back on subject, just to pick, I say a sound system. Are all the stereo components stock?

Do a 2-3k sound system. First thing in did when I bought mine all before the cosmetic stuff. You won't regret it, unless u don't like music.

Fender flares maybe? Unless you like the tires sticking out. I know some people do

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of wheels sticking out of the wells, but the factory wheel arch trim pieces might set it off pretty nice. It doesn't add much in the way of protection (1/2" maybe), but PTM they add a nice finished look.

How about a tailgate damper to keep the tailgate from slamming down when it slips off your hand.

That something that happens frequently? The tailgate already has a torsion bar-assist to lower the effective weight, and the cables will catch it. Maybe the more effective solution would be to hit the gym every once in a while so that you can handle the tailgate without problems, lol.

@tg150, on the sound system, a new head unit ($300), 2 pairs of components ($300), and a sub/5ch-amp ($400) will be more than enough. Spending $3K on a sound system is ridiculous for most people.

No, Just once after hooking up my boat trailer and pulling out of the driveway the tailgate slammed down on the boat trailer putting the first ding in my truck.

I see your license plates, you should help me get a Missouri meetup going. Your F150 chillin' with other F150's would defiantly make it look better! Haha

But to answer your question, I think that a black roof would look killer on your truck. Also I'm assuming that you've blacked out the tailgate badges since you've done that on the fender badges, but if not maybe those?

Food for thought.

So, securing the tailgate properly would have been the first fix. Second fix, is extending the tongue of your boat trailer so that the bow stop is clear of the tailgate when lowered. You may be able to adjust the bow stop location if you have enough room to push the bow stop back a few inches. Still, your solution just puts a smaller dent in the tailgate in your situation, it doesn't eliminate the problem. Just my .02.
