Smell gas

After changing the plugs and fuel filter I smell gas when I start the truck, already check the filter and tank area.
Bone dry.

Suggestions?

Its only when it starts, but not always. And sometimes when I come to a stop.
Very hit and miss when it happens.

I have the same issue with a '07 Supercrew 5.4. Garage has done the intake manifolds, replaced the fuel sensor and couldn't find any other problem. They said maybe it was because I have a K&N filter and the mixture was too rich. Could this be realistic? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. I have had the plugs done, but the tech said they were retorqued to the proper specs.

I'd have them re-checked. Same thing happened about two months after I had the dealership change my plugs, every time I started it there would be a small whiff of raw fuel, re-torqued the plugs and it has not done it since.
