ok i have a 04 with the 4.6 it has 104,xxx on the clock. for a while now when i punch the gas from a rolling start to say pass some one or some thing the motor will wind up to roughly 4k or so and stay for a sec and then it will speed up. i know buying a programer would help this but that isnt in my budget right now. any other thing that could fix this or is it just some thing im gonna have to live with till i get a programer.

 

How many miles on the spark plugs, fuel filter, and air filter? Have you ever cleaned the MAF and throttle body? When was the last time you put some Techron in the gas?

 

the plugs have maybe 100 miles on them. the fuel filter change got put on hold since i broke the clip and autozone gave me the wrong tool. i clean my air filter every time i change my oil. im going to clean it out again in a few days when i wash my truck. i need to do my maf and throttle body. i havent cleaned a tb on these trucks any one have a tutorial on how to clean it? i have never ran techron through because i have honestly never heard of it.

 

i was gonna get a bottle of techron tonight at walmart but say 2 diff ones. whitch one should i get and do i have to put it in before i fill up or can i put in after i fill up also one said treats 12 gallons the other says treats 15 gallons is it safe to use either with less or more gas in the tank?

I would say run your tank low, dump a bottle of this in, then fill about 3/4 to a full tank.

 

ok. i actually had that one in ym hand. lol. is it ok to put it in after i fill up and with less then 20 gallons or what ever it says on the bottle.

 

It doesn't mix too well unless you add some gas after putting it in.

 

ok next time i put gas in ill put this in first. ill grab a bottle and throw it in my tool box. do i have to follow the 15 gallons 20 gallons thing or can i dump the whole bottle in because im not sure how much is left in my tank

 

Just dump the bottle in and fill the tank. Doesn't matter how much is left.
