transfer case fluid change

if i read correctly, the book says 150k miles before i need transfer case fluid change but, i average 7k a year on this truck, currently 44k on it. by my math, if that rate continues, she will be 21 years old when she hits 150k!!! thats a long time for fluid to sit in that case. so when should i change it? she is 6 years old now, so was thinking now may not be a bad time.

i wish ford would have put a number of years in addition to mileage on some of these service items for people like me who hardly drive the vehicle.

I had changed the fluid out before winter. I have 54k on mine. They typically say around 50k you should change all fluids in your vehicle. So your right around that corner.

If you want to change it, have the time and money, I'd just do it. Its an easy, cheap job. I can't see why it would be harmful to change it early if you wanted.
