Glove Box Door Fail??? Or...

Was I broken into?

When I got out out my truck this morning I got that sinking feeling that I was broken into. My ashtray door, console, and glove box doors were all open. After going through this before with my Mustang I started getting that sick feeling that I had been robbed. The only thing is that nothing was taken...not the Oakleys on my dash...my Fox sunglasses in the console...my earbuds...not my change...heck...not even my brand new pack of Airwick air fresheners (Coconut Breeze btw, lol). What gives? Was I broken into?

There is a slight possibility that I left the console unhinged...slight...but I definitely did not go in the glove box and I never use the ashtray. There was absolutely nothing stolen and several things were in plain sight and would have been easy to swipe even if they got interrupted.

The only Twilight Zoneish thing I can figure out is that my glove box door may not have been fully latched and finally fell open and caused the ashtray to also pop open. I dunno...but I definitely "feel" like someone broke in.

I have no clue..I looked around the outside of my truck for any sign of a break in but didn't notice anything...although it's raining so that may have been why. I will go check again...even aliens would have taken my Sam's club bundle of COCONUT BREEZE AIRWICKS!!!

None of mine, but there are kids around...or at least as many as any normal neighborhood. I would have thought that a kid would have taken my earbud collection lol that was in my cupholder.

I just went out and checked again and my lock seems to be fine. I never use it so i can't really compare it to anything but I tried other keys to see if it was broken and it still functions properly.

This is just so bizarre...I can't explain why everything was open other than someone was in there...yet took absolutely nothing. I think I'll check to see if any police reports were filed for break-ins in my neighborhood...and then clean everything out of my truck to be safe.

Maybe they were looking for personal information instead, way more useful to a thief than some air fresheners.

That was/is my worry, but my registration and other papers with my info on it were still there and in places that they would have seen if they opened my console.

Did I mention it was Serene Coconut Breeze? lol

I was referring to little kids playing around, not necessarily trying to steal anything.

I understood...I should have responded with a quote though. While I can't say for sure...I don't think any of the kids that live around me would have been playing near my truck..let alone inside of it...but like I said...I can't say for sure.

The same thing happened to me before the person turned on my flasher and console was open along with my rail system console. It turned out to be my next door neighbors autistic granddaughter.

I would consider that a warning. You are lucky. Don't leave anything in your truck that you want to keep.
