08 Rear Bumper installation - backup sensors
08 Rear Bumper installation - backup sensors
Hopefully some one has some experience with this, or can point me in the right direction.
I had to replace the rear bumper on my 08 F150 (King Ranch if that matters), I was able to get a bumper off an 06 that worked. The new bumper has the reverse sensors already installed. As the new bumper was installed we checked to ensure all the wire harness connections were the same and they were. However once the bumper was installed the rear sensors don't work at all. In the cab of the truck the button for the rear sensors indicates the system is off, I push the button nothing happens the off light stays one.
Does any one know what might be causing this? Should I take the skin off the new bumper and mount it on the old frame (thus using the original harness) or do the sensors need to be calibrated or something? Could this be a fuse problem?
Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance!

I would just double check all of your connections to make sure one isn't loose. Then maybe ohm out the sensors to see if they are good.
You could even check with ford to varrify the replacement sensors are the same part # btw the years
Good luck

We checked all the connections and everything appears to be right so, on Monday I am going to talk to Ford. I am thinking they may need to do something with the computer. If all else fails I will just take the skin off the replacement bumper and install it on the old (original) frame.
Thanks again for the help I will post the results in case this happens to anyone else.
