Leveling kit help
I've been thinking about getting a leveling kit for my truck just to raise the front up a couple inches for a more aggressive look. The only problem is that I don't know a thing about leveling kits. Anyone have any knowledge on or had experiences with leveling kits that could help me choose which one to buy?

i have a 3" Pro comp leveling kit in the front of my 04 and that would be to much lift if the back was not slightly lifted as well.
i dont go for cheap i use name brands that have tested their products and stand behind them.

Lots of members have HBS kits on here without issue. They are a quality build, had them on my truck for close to a year with no issue, and I by no means baby my truck. Why pay more than double for the same product? It's not true suspension components afterall
whatever leveling kit you decide to go with...keep a eye on your half shaft boots...installed a 2" kit on my 05 FX4...within a couple weeks my drivers side boot ripped and slung grease everywhere...then within another month the passenger side ripped and slung grease everywhere...apparantly the boots didn't like the new angle...but after replacing both half shafts...all has been good with the world...

freddytran is dead on, with both the right product and height for your truck. i speak from experience.
install is easy, i did it myself in highschool a few years ago with very little mechanical knowledge.

agreed even if its your first time as long as you have all the wrenches and a good prybar your in the game.
if you figured 2 hrs for the first side and 1 hr for the second side you could do it with a fair mechanical ability.
i didnt unbolt all the crap that the directions tell you to when i did mine and the first side took about an hr fifteen.
i was in no hurry at all or it could have been done a lot quicker.
i just popped the top control arm joint and the steering linkage then unplugged my vaccuum hose and swung the rotor and caliper over to the side far enough to work the strut out and back in.
i had a fight on my hands puttting it back in because i didnt pop the sway bar loose but i used a pry bar and just worked the bottom back by compressng the strut slightly.
save some time and unbolt the sway bar
oh and make sure its jacked up far enough, it took me a few min longer to jack it back up because the tire was hitting the floor when i tried to put it back on.
i didnt compensate for the 3" added hight

I got the 2" auto spring level kit (spacers) and 3" rear blocks. Had a local garage install em for $125. Very happy with them! I didn't go with 2.5"+ spacers because I didn't want my truck higher in the front than in the back.
Not sure about the HBS spacers but the Autospring ones are offset so the upper control arm does not come into contact with the the coil. BTW, no need to spend the extra money on powdercoating. You cant see them and the pc offers no other benefits that I can see. You can find them on eBay or you can contact them directly:
