Door ajar chime continues after mod???

OK so i disconnected the black/pink wire from within the steering column.
now that worked and so the chime does not occur when the keys are in the ignition, vehicle off and the door is opened.

what i am needing (which may not be possible for obvious reasons) to eliminate is that if the vehicle is running (while in neutral or in gear) and i open the door then the door ajar chimes one time.

this does not bother me most times, however, when i am out in the bush and every critter that i am thinking of sneaking up on can hear that ding from 10 miles away, makes my stealth approach not too stealthy.

is there any way to turn this off temporarily, as 95% of the time i do like the door ajar chime as i have young kids who like to pull on the silver handle while driving. it brings about a quick warning to me and a good smacking for them.

thanks.

a switch would work.
now, any help with which wire that is and where it is located. i need to be able to have it so that it would not matter which door is openened.
