Front diff spacer, possible or no way?!

So I've seen online pics of people putting in a front diff spacer on toyota's and I think I saw someone add one to a 88-98 Chevy as well?
I know that they installed these spacers to help with cv angles and I also believe that there's a company out there that includes these in some of there Toyota lift kits. (washer type).
I'm just curious if this was possible on our trucks as I have a 6" RCX kit which drops the front diff only 5" and uses a 6" spacer to achieve a full 6 inches of lift.
So I have cv angles. Nothing bad or probably anything to worry about but after coming across this mod, naturally it had me thinking. My first idea was to come here and share/ask with you all. If this was realistic or not?
One way that was used was adding (stacking) shim type spacers and another method was a thick 1" washer type spacer.
I have yet to come across an F150 with this mod though. Is this because it is not possible?
I'm by no means an expert on suspension so forgive me if this sounds ridiculous.

I forgot to mention that I'm only referring to a drop spacer of about 1".
