Help figuring out what part this?
Help figuring out what part this is that is leaking?
Hi everyone, I just noticed this leak after replacing the power steering bump and I'm curious if anyone knows what it is and how bad of an install it could be?
It looks like one side of it runs to the radiator so it's a coolant line leaking? Checked my reservoir and it was just under the cold fill line...so I don't think it could be that? (metal tube connecting to the rubber hose) --- see the leak?

Follow both ends of it to see what it leads to, and that should tell you what fluid runs through it. If the substance was clear, then it could have just been some water condensation on the line.

the a.c. line is what is leaking by the metal and rubber seam lower....couldn't reach it from that side
Hopefully this helps

It hasn't leaked in the last day since when I took a plyer and tightened the metal clamp on the rubber...not sure how long it will last or if its normal.

And the reason it may have stopped leaking is that there is only a little oil in the AC system. Wait too long (if not too late already), and you will be replacing more than that line. Possibly your AC compressor and more.
Edit, I will also add that if the oil is leaking, the refrigerant is long gone.

thank you! Recharge in terms of adding the a.c. can liquid or something else? It's winter here so I have a few months to fix it unless it will in some way affect my heat controls? If not I can hold off on it......may just have a shop do it if its not too $$$
You do not have a few months. The compressor runs in winter too. In most settings, the compressor kicks in and out just to keep it running and lubricated. With no oil or refrigerant, it will destroy itself, assuming it has not already done so. And you need more than to just refill. It needs to be evacuated to get all thye old and anything else that is bad out of the system. Filter and dryer will also probably have to be replaced.
